Politics – The Coal Business by M. Abdullah Jabbar

Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani (ex PM of Pakistan) said during a hearing of contempt of court that we do business of coal how can anyone expect that we won’t get our hands dirty. Generally, politics is suggested as the professions in which certain people get elected as per the choice of general public but I myself agree with this quote. From the start if we look at the history of Pakistan’s politics, from the beginning, the plot that was planted to kill Muhammad Ali Jinnah that is Liaqat Ali Khan although upon knowing the condition of Qaid upon his arrival to Karachi sends up a car which was in miserable condition just to become the supreme power. The assassination of Abraham Lincoln upon passing the bill of giving rights to black skinned people who were treated mercilessly in America. Every incident from past till today evidently advocates the quotation. In Pakistan every single politician who went up the ladder towards the higher office travelled through this road and got dirt on their hands. The controversial assassination of Benazir Bhutto and then the journey of Asif Ali Zardari from the prison to presidential office raise several questions among the public. Even the most favorite politician among youngsters Imran khan also included most of the politicians that were included in Pervaiz Musharaf’s cabinet although he condemns the martial law and rule of Pervaiz Musharaf. The list that proves this point is gigantic that may include the Swiss cases of money laundering,The ex-president of Pakistan being called Mr ten percent, the money laundering case on Sharif family and many more. Aesop once said “ We hang petty thieves and appoint the greatest one to public office “
